The Name Game

Hardly noticed when first employed, the Republican political machine used subtlety extremely effectively when it implemented their semantic diminution of the opposing party’s moniker. Known from its inception as the Democratic Party, Republicans began to spew venomously the name of their opposition as the Democrat Party. Talking points must have spelled out the necessity to use every opportunity to reference the opponents in such a way, and the effect was dramatic, making the Democrats sound pejorative even in name.
Well its time to fight fire with fire and I have considered how the Democrats can counter their attacks by changing one alphabet. Because the Republican Party leadership is comprised of fat cat politicians and industrialists, when referring to the Republicans, Democrats should rename them the Republicats. That’s right, the Republicat Party has the same negative ring to it that the Democrat Party conjures up.
Fat Cats playing the game of divide and conquer should get used to their new moniker, REPUBLICATS. Democrats should place this arrow in their quiver for use whenever the opponent wants to play the Democrat Party trick shot. It will serve a dual purpose, remind the people of the Republicats leadership composition and counter the as yet unchallenged name twist they got away with for too long.
