Governor Gone Girlie

So now he wants to join the girlie men. Governor Swarzeneggar looks a lot like the people he pasted with the pejorative term “Girlie Men” before the special election he called showed him that all of his bluster was a bust. Chastened by the sound defeat of his so called initiatives, he did a political pirouette, appointing Democrats to his staff, repaying money he took from the schools and refused to honor a pledge to repay earlier.

He looks more like a Democrat than his opponents these days the way he runs from Bush’s visit and courts Mayor Villaregosa and other political Democrats. Maria can’t get the credit for turning you around either, she has stood by you when you thought you were going to grab power the good old Republican way, by practicing the politics of division.

Does he really think the people of Caulifornia, (oh he’s corrected his pronunciation of that too) will accept his chameleon act and give him a chance to pirouette again once he fools the electorate? At least Bush is going out the same way he came in, a dyed in the wool conservative. We need to really ask ourselves when we go to the polls in the fall if this guy is playing fast and loose with our future or is he somehow really chastened. My money is on the former position.

He wants to stay on the political landscape in hopes of moving into national politics and the only way out for him is to court the democrats to keep his perch. I’ve got news for you Arnie: we won’t be fooled again! You are hereby on notice that your foray into politics is about to be TERMINATED!

A Lesson From Our Mothers

A Lesson From Our Mothers

Its all coming out now, and George can’t stop it. Dick Cheney has been yanking the strings all along as we all suspected. While W was the front man for the for the Republican presidential ticket, the real powers that are at the reins lie in the George Herbert Walker Bush team of Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Negroponte. It’s no accident that the Libby investigation starts with Cheney’s newspaper article; the eavesdropping on our phone calls Cheney’s idea.

Titular presidencies are not new, by the end of Reagan’s second term; we learned that Nancy was really calling the shots with the help of a number of replacement cabinet members. When all is exposed we will learn that the conservative plan for control of the government began with Johnson after they got rid of Kennedy, gained momentum with Nixon, who self destructed because of ego (the missing 18 minutes), was briefly interrupted by Carter after Ford bumbled too much. It was sidelined temporarily when Reagan’s popularity outshined George Bush; the assassination failed but was well thought out, the devastator bullet didn’t explode, a fraction of an inch from his heart.

Finally George got in and was so removed from the people that he was unable to hold power, allowing Clinton to sneak in and set them back though he was in effect assassinated via his character flaws. Then Georgie boy was brought in through the back door (Florida) and the neocons were off and running. The Middle East is the prize and they are determined to take control of it at all costs. Our liberties are eroded; our nation is divided to the effect of rendering us incapable of action. Corporations own the people we elect, and there is no end in sight short of radical action. Do I mean revolution, yes, but of the kind mentioned 2000 years ago. Love, its time for Christians to follow Christ and love thy neighbor; the illegal immigrant, the gay, the black, the white, the addict, the old, the young; the liberal, the conservative, it is the only way out of our national dilemma.

Only through us loving each other enough to vote our interests instead of our prejudices will we wrest control of our government back from the demagogues. It’s time to get our heads out of our bibles, our jobs, our bills, our videos, our books, our movies, our games, our gangs, our drugs, all of our escapes and distractions that keep us from loving our neighbors as ourselves.

It’s Mother’s Day in America, and if we were blessed with a loving mother we honor them today. If we listened to her as children we learned what love is, unconditional. It’s time for that love to live in us for our fellow human beings. And once we do that here in America, we can show the rest of the world that what was taken from us, we restored, and they will respect us, maybe even emulate us; even more Love us back!
